Job description
Main Tasks:
- Proactively manages portfolio of companies for grading and exposures
- Gathers appropriate level of information to assess companies
- Assess companies according to defined targets (manual grading)
- Issue correct limit decisions to minimize claims as well as satisfy policyholder’s queries
- Communicate the reasoning of partial risk decisions to policyholders
- Maintain the risk department KPIs through the year
Underwriting:
- Engage in meetings, especially with clients/brokers.
- Build long term and profitable customer relationship, including those in a context of restrictive decisions
- Steering to ensure acceptable portfolio loss ratio and proposing actions to ensure/restore profitability of portfolio
- Validate terms and conditions on risk side for new products or review of existing policies
- Ensure that the minimum quality standards are applied to secure customer satisfaction and a strong risk steering
- Operational involvement and workflow management of cases
- Participate in local and regional events involving policy holders, prospects and financial partners
- Active support to commercial team colleagues
- Building a trustful relationship with customers, brokers and any other intermediaries to improve customer porfolio profitability.
Analysis :
- Carry out detailed company assessment, write large reports
- Realize and maintain numerous contacts with companies and other sources:
- Make Phone calls and company visits to get more information for assessment
- Provides minimum level of analysis without company contact
- Permanently monitors given portfolio of companies
- Take actions based on negative market info/internal negative info from clients
- Track industry/sector information and use the information in companies’ analysis.
Qualification and Experience:
Post graduate / MBA in Finance with 3-4 years’ relevant experience/Graduate with 5-8 years’ experience
Desirable: Knowledge of credit analysis and relevant processes
- Market knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of Indian economy, business and industry sectors
- Very good knowledge of Finance and Credit Management/ underwriting
- Expertise and experience in corporate financial analysis and assessment.
- Business expertise
- Strong business assessment skills
- Superior skills in balance sheet analysis.
- High level of commercial awareness and customer service
- Communication :
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to convince.
- Ability to build long term and profitable customer relationship, even in a context of restrictive decisions and deteriorated market conditions
- Be a good communicator and able to convince clients and other stakeholders about risk decisions taken
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to hold client attention , including attend difficult and high profile meetings with senior people at client end.
- Establish a good network
- Ability to hold visits and contacts, including high difficult and high profile meetings with senior people
- Capable to work in a multicultural environment
