We are looking for a Underwring Manager, Financial Institutions, Regional Unit London, based in London.

 

Your Team 
Allianz Commercial offers a suite of financial lines insurance solutions specifically designed to address the liabilities of companies, managers and professionals in today’s increasingly litigious and demanding business world. From specialist centers across the globe, we provide financial lines insurance for companies ranging from multi-nationals to smaller businesses - including a range of specialist solutions for Financial Institutions - and for individual directors and managers. And we pride ourselves on our flexibility, adjusting our underwriting to match the needs of our clients.    

 

The Impact You Will Have  

Reporting directly to the Regional Head of Financial Institutions, Regional Unit London, you will assist in developing and in delivering clear Financial Institution underwriting strategies for the Regional Unit London teams. You will have ownership of selected Key/ Large Accounts and help develop the Underwriting team.  

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:  

·  Develop targeting strategies for new Financial Institutions opportunities 
·  Train, develop and coach less experienced employees 
·  Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets 
·  Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with brokers, proactively managing capacity 
·  Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary) 
·  Positively represent Allianz Commercial externally to the market and encourage more junior team members to raise their own profile and that of the team 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

·  Significant experience underwriting profitable business in the Financial Institutions segment of large corporate international insurance  
·  Recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and well established within the market 
·  Specialised understanding of regional / national Financial Institutions insurance markets and the competitor landscape 
·  Able to negotiate effectively achieving the best outcome for your portfolio while maintaining positive business relationships with your clients and brokers 
·  Capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective 
·  Good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework 
·  Able to design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts 
·  Fluent English language skills
