What you do:
This role supports the variable product Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) Filing Team by preparing and submitting regulatory filings with the SEC in an accurate, timely, and compliant fashion. Filings include submissions on behalf of Allianz Life Insurance Company and its affiliates’ variable and registered index-linked annuities, exchange traded funds (ETFs), and mutual funds.
You will utilize both Allianz Life’s filing software, as well as relationships with outside vendors, to ensure timely filings of all regulatory documents. The role supports implementation of new variable product and fund initiatives as directed by the business unit. The position will work with internal and external business partners, including Compliance, Finance, Independent Auditors, Marketing, and Distribution, to collect and prepare materials for required SEC filings and customer disclosures.
You will work with various filing tools and programs, including but not limited to, content management platforms, filing production platforms, the SEC’s EDGAR platform, and vendor invoicing and bill pay.
You will report to the Senior Counsel/Associate General Counsel.
Essential Job Functions
- Preparing regulatory filings with the SEC (including annual updates to registration statements on Form N-4 and supplements) of variable insurance products, including EDGAR submissions, maintaining filing calendar, recordkeeping support, and preparing EDGAR submissions (75%)
- Stay up-to-date with SEC regulations and guidelines, ensuring all filings are compliant with current requirements. Implement changes in compliance processes as necessary to adapt to regulatory updates. (10%)
- Coordinating with internal and external business partners to gather information and documents necessary for filings and any required posting on websites (10%)
- Maintaining relationships, including the processing of invoices, with outside vendors used in the production and filing of regulatory documents (5%)
- Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)
What you bring:
- 2+ years’ of relevant industry and/or experience as a paralegal
- Four-year degree or equivalent work experience required
- Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Detailed oriented, with strong organizational and communication skills
- You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. This includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas.
