Job description

About the Job

Are you a passionate developer looking for an exciting opportunity to work with complex IT systems and make a real impact? Join our team at Allianz Technology and help us drive innovative solutions for the KLS (Kollektivleben System), our end-to-end industry solution for the Swiss Group Life business (BVG).

The Swiss Group Life environment (2nd pillar) is a strictly regulated and demanding landscape that requires sophisticated, high-performance applications to manage the entire insurance value chain. In this role, you will be a technical generalist who thinks end-to-end—bridging the gap between stable core systems and modern cloud-native innovation. If you thrive on solving technical puzzles within a complex ecosystem and want to push the boundaries of technology, we want to hear from you!

What you do

  • Analyze and assess software development tasks and complex requirements according to project specifications to prepare accurate effort estimations.
  • Develop and implement software requirements and interfaces within the KLS environment, ensuring alignment with architectural guidelines.
  • Drive the transition of legacy systems into modern cloud services and develop new insurance products for B2B/B2C sectors.
  • Optimize platform processes through automation and explore AI-driven solutions (e.g., via our AZ Gen-AI Lab) to solve business challenges.
  • Implement thorough unit tests and write clean, disciplined code that adheres to high application standards and agile practices.
  • Provide clear documentation and take full ownership of implementations, including the correction of source code and system errors.
  • Collaborate closely with Solution Designers and Product Owners within a Agile Framework using 2-week sprints.

What you bring

  • Willingness to develop knowledge about the Allianz Suisse-specific group life model and its foundation; experience in group life insurance business is a plus.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in software design, requirements analysis and technical implementation with excellent proficiency in Java (ideally Java 12+), Spring Boot, REST APIs, and unit testing frameworks.
  • Practical experience or strong familiarity with modern technologies such as Kafka, Camunda, or Azure cloud services as strong pluses.
  • Daily proficiency with developer tools including Eclipse/IntelliJ, JIRA and DBeaver.
  • Strong understanding of modern software architectures, central service layers, and complex distributed system landscapes.
  • Solid knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines (Maven, Jenkins), Git workflows, and containerization using Docker.
  • A highly motivated, independent problem-solver and proactive communicator in English who prioritizes team success.
  • Knowledge of machine learning would be a plus.

What we offer

  • We offer a hybrid work model which recognizes the value of striking a balance between in-person collaboration and remote working incl. up to 25 days per year working from abroad.
  • We believe in rewarding performance and our compensation and benefits package includes a company bonus scheme, pension, employee shares program and multiple employee discounts (details vary by location).
  • From career development and digital learning programs to international career mobility, we offer lifelong learning for our employees worldwide and an environment where innovation, delivery and empowerment are fostered.
  • Flexible working, health and wellbeing offers (including healthcare and parental leave benefits) support to balance family and career and help our people return from career breaks with experience that nothing else can teach.

Make every future a success.
