IT Junior Application Architect (m/f) at Allianz SE Reinsurance

JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

This roles is responsible for the analysis, design, documentation and delivery of web applications used by internal business units. The holder of this role shall ensure that delivered solutions meet the business need, support the IT strategy, adhere to internal and Allianz Group standards and fit into the application landscape. These tasks can be done in line organization work or in projects. Future tasks and projects include the introduction of micro service architecture to increased reusability of delivered IT solutions and the utilization of the Allianz private cloud services (ADP, CRP, etc.) for cost optimized operation of underlying infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Defines, implements, and maintains application architectures in alignment with the defined enterprise architecture blueprint.

Ensures the right usage of tools, frameworks and standards, also ensures the completeness of the functional and non-functional requirements.

Defines work packages to be delivered by development team and track them to completion.

Acts as contact person for architecture requirements, provides consultancy to relevant stakeholders and closely aligns with the enterprise architects.

Explores new technologies and brings it in the IT architecture community through valuable proposals or prototypes.

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Required experience:

2 - 3 years professional experience in agile software development and Java / JavaScript

First experiences in software architecture and requirement engineering

Keen to explore new technologies and frameworks

Preferably work experience in the financial industry already, ideally in the insurance sector

Required education:

Graduate degree (computer science or similar) or a comparable qualification

Technical skills:

IT architecture skills (analysis, design, implementation & service introduction)

Able to use tooling that supports agile development cycles: version control (git), build automation, automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, etc.

Java and JavaScript coding. Familiarity with frameworks like Angular JS is a plus.

General skills:

Coordination and communication skills (including presentation, team work)

Customer and results oriented, independent and reliable working approach

Analytical skills as well as thinking out of the box

Excellent English language skills, written and spoken

International competence, including intercultural awareness
