Location: AGL Head Office, Maple House, Temple Road, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.
Background:
Allianz Global Life dac (“AGL”) is a rapidly growing cross-border life insurer with products sold into the French, Italian and German markets, and, more recently Greek and Lithuanian markets. It also reinsures a portfolio of variable annuities sold in Taiwan and Japan. Its goal is to expand into other markets over the coming years, while also continuing to expand its product range. It currently writes unit linked, variable annuity and protection business.
Main Purpose of the Job:
The HR Business Partner (“HRBP”) will support the Head of HR and Communications to align HR strategy with the Company strategy, enhance organisational performance and foster a positive work environment. The HRBP will act as a strategic advisor to management, providing expertise on topics including but not limited to employee engagement, talent management and succession planning, resourcing and retention strategy, performance management, employee relations, organisational design and HR policy in general.
Key Performance Measures:
· In collaboration with HR colleagues, implement strategic HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with AZ Group and Company goals.
· Manage, oversee and/or support the core local and AZ Group HR processes, ensuring effective engagement with relevant stakeholders, as required.
· Promote a positive workplace culture by supporting employee engagement initiatives derived from the annual Allianz Engagement Survey process.
· Lead the annual Talent Management and Succession Planning process. Support agreed development initiatives to further strengthen the Company’s succession pipeline.
· Oversee the annual Performance Management cycle, and provide guidance to managers on performance-related issues, promoting a culture of continuous feedback and improvement.
· In collaboration with the L&D Specialist/Lead, address any skills gaps identified to enhance employee capabilities and support continuous learning and development.
· Lead and deliver on assigned key projects (e.g. Strategic Workforce Planning), with strong stakeholder management and effective project management.
· Coordinate HR input into the Planning Dialogue, inc. quarterly reviews with Finance;
· Monitor and advise on resourcing and retention strategies e.g. Graduate Programme.
· Support and execute organisational change initiatives, when required.
· Oversee and advise on employee relations issues, including attendance, performance, dignity at work, disciplinary, and grievance matters in line with relevant Company policies and procedures.
· Monitor and implement applicable changes in employment and / or financial services legislation and regulation, e.g. Fitness and Probity, Individual Accountability Framework, MCC etc.
· Design, develop and enhance HR policies in line with Board and relevant Board Sub-Committee submission and approval timelines.
· Support the preparation of HR updates and presentations to Compliance, Risk, Audit, and / or the Board (inc. Board Sub-Committees) as and when required.
· Collaborate with HR colleagues to enhance our utilisation of HR data analysis, reporting and insights.
This job description shall not limit the duties which may be assigned to this role. The successful candidate shall be required to perform on a temporary or permanent basis such additional or different duties that the Company may reasonably assign to them from time-to-time.

Business Competencies:
Education and Qualifications:
· Relevant 3rd level qualification (e.g. HRM, Business and Management or similar); and
· Associate membership of CIPD.
Professional Competence:
· Min of 2 years of relevant experience at this level ; and
· 1-2 years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally insurance.
Product & Technical Knowledge:
· Comprehensive understanding and prior experience across the key responsibilities pertaining to this role; and
· Knowledge and prior experience in Fitness and Probity, the Individual Accountability Framework, and the Minimum Competency Code is advantageous.
Commercial Awareness:
· Clear understanding of the Company and HR Function goals; and
· Ability to understand a relevant business issue, and provide relevant HR input to enhance and support the problem-solving and implementation of a feasible solution.
