About the Job
As a database developer, you are part of an agile team that is responsible for the database product “FIV” (management and information system for sales). FIV is the central sales management and information system for around 14,000 users in sales and controlling positions at Allianz in Germany, providing data on various platforms. This includes 25 TB of data in five production databases.
The agile product team is part of the sales management tribe, which is based at Allianz Kunde und Markt GmbH. The sales management chapter, i.e. your “disciplinary home”, belongs to Allianz Technology.
What you do
· Processing Jira tickets for data model extensions, database-related programming, adjustments to the ETL process (tool: biGenius), versioning in Github, specifications for automation, module testing
· Conducting general SI tests (monitoring job chains, providing test data)
· Creating new and maintaining existing interfaces
· Supporting, participating in and testing upgrades and migrations of interfaces and their databases
· Maintaining data delivery processes to downstream systems
· Processing incidents and creating changes, e.g. for releases
· Regularly taking on early shifts and shift work at the end of the month
What you bring
· Degree in computer science / natural sciences / technical degree or comparable training
· Very good knowledge of SQL (min experienced)
· Very good database knowledge in Snowflake + DBT, Exasol, Oracle
· Confident handling of build pipeline tools (GitHub, Jenkins)
· Willingness to take on early shifts and weekend on-call duty
· Experience in agile work
· Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
· Independent, team-oriented work
· Strong communication skills and high customer orientation
· Strong sense of quality and responsibility
· Good knowledge of English
Nice to have:
· Experience and knowledge in designing and operating data warehouse systems
· Knowledge of the programming languages Lua, Python, PL/SQL
· Confident handling of automation processes
· Knowledge of an ETL tool
· Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and AWS-based components for data (e.g. Glue), IaaS and containers.
· Experience with Pycharm, Visual Studio Code
· Experience with Confluence, Jira
· Knowledge of German
