What you do:
As the Data Governance Analyst you will focus on the technical side of the Data Governance program, supporting the other Data Governance Analysts with the data analysis and system research necessary for the Data Governance team to support Allianz Life’s need for accessible, understood, quality data supporting data-driven business decisions.
You will be an essential player in the Data Quality Improvement process as you monitor data quality, research root causes, and recommend remediation solutions. Your data profiling will ensure the appropriate data quality checks are in place on critical data elements.
Your business and system knowledge will pair with your technical skills to translate business requirements and logic into technical logic for implementation on a large data platform.
- Design, develop, and execute data quality checks and validation processes across multiple data sources
- Perform comprehensive data profiling to assess data quality, structure, and content
- Monitor, analyze, and report on data quality metrics, identifying trends and anomalies
- Conduct root cause analysis and defect research to resolve data quality issues, including missing, duplicate, or inconsistent data
- Recommend and facilitate improvements to data collection, storage, and processing procedures
- Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and quality expectations
- Translate business requirements and rules into technical logic for implementation in Azure data platform
- Develop and maintain documentation for data governance standards, processes, and best practices
- Design and maintain reports and dashboards to communicate data quality status to management and stakeholders
- Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)
What you bring:
- 2-3 years Data Analyst experience (preferred: 4-5 years)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry
- Experience with external vendors and agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
- Familiarity with project management tools (JMP Jira)
- Strong analytical, project management, and leadership abilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R)
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
- Familiarity with data governance and data management best practices is a plus
- High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
