We are looking for a Compliance Governance Specialist - Economic Sanctions Investigations (m/f) based in London. 

  

Your Team

 

At Allianz Commercial our Compliance Department manages the Compliance Programmes globally, staying abreast of external requirements and internal developments to identify and minimize compliance risks, protecting the interests of the company.  

 

The Impact You Will Have

 

Reporting to the Head of the Sanctions Unit and part of the Global Compliance Team, as a Compliance Governance Specialist, you will analyse sanctions laws and regulations, provide support and guidance and perform Economic Sanctions assessment for business referrals, engage with Underwriting, Claims and other functions, to address and manage relevant compliance aspects in support of business needs. You will drive constant process and training improvements and ensure proper and timely communication to the business. You will assist the Head of AGCS Sanctions Unit on various other sanctions related matters. You will also develop standard reports and provide periodic reports to sanctions team, L&C and business and support the sanctions team in various IT driven aspects/requests/implementations.  

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

 

·  Analyse sanctions laws and regulations in respect of the specific business exposures  
·  Keep abreast of sanctions developments and provide guidance to the business accordingly  
·  Perform Economic Sanctions assessment for business referrals and provide support and guidance to the various business stakeholders 
·  Review sanctions relevant submissions, discuss relevant aspects and support communication with clients and brokers 
·  Improve processes or design new process, provide reports and overviews, perform risk assessments, document initiatives and provide sound overview of initiatives and activities to Head Sanction Unit to support steering and prioritization  
·  Build, maintain and improve sanctions database and ensure consistent documentation across business applications (process, exceptions, referrals etc.) 
·  Develop new solutions/ robotic/ standard for documentation, etc.  
·  Review and update training modules, organize and provide F2F trainings and develop awareness campaigns/messages and newsletters.   
·  Support the review of the internal policies and procedure documents, as well as global, regional, line-of-business-specific guidelines, etc.  

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

 

·  University degree in Law 
·  At least 3 years of professional experience in insurance or reinsurance or alternatively in the area of Economic Sanctions 
·  Background in compliance, legal or regulatory 
·  Good understanding of the insurance business and ideally of Allianz would be a plus 
·  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff, and ability to function as part of a team 
·  Experience in project management, process design and/or stakeholder management 
·  Compliance or financial crime knowledge or experience in underwriting or claims would be a plus 
·  You are an open and forward-looking person, interested in learning new areas and sharing knowledge, expressing ideas and messages clearly and with confidence 
·  Strong analytic skills and IT acumen 
·  Fluent English skills (German or French language skills would be beneficial)
