Job description
Claims Validator
This role is focused on cost control, validation, and performance management across a network of builders and trades delivering insurance repairs.
You act as the quality and cost gatekeeper, ensuring:
- Scopes and pricing are accurate
- Repairs meet KPIs (time, cost, quality)
- Strong relationships are maintained with trade partners
Core Purpose
Validate and control costs of insurance repair work while ensuring:
- Accurate scoping & estimating
- Partner performance meets standards
- Strong customer outcomes
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Control & Validation
- Review and validate scopes, methods, and pricing
- Negotiate with builders and trades
- Benchmark costs against industry standards
- Identify opportunities to reduce repair costs
- Ensure billing accuracy and financial compliance
2. Network / Partner Management
- Manage relationships with builders & trade partners
- Coach partners on:
- Report writing
- Scope accuracy
- Documentation
- Drive performance against KPIs (timelines, quality, service)
3. Quality Assurance
- Establish quality control checks for:
- Reports
- Quotes
- Scopes
- Ensure accuracy before submission
- Improve quote precision and scope clarity
4. Customer & Client Service
- Provide high-quality communication and follow-through
- Resolve conflicts and issues
- Deliver strong customer experience internally and externally
5. Repair / Claims Oversight
- Monitor claims for:
- Validity
- Cost containment
- Ensure cost savings are applied where appropriate
6. Work Health & Safety (WHS)
- Actively manage and monitor WHS compliance
- Ensure network adheres to safety standards
Key Skills Required
Technical / Industry
- Trade qualification (ideally Carpentry)
- Strong estimating experience (essential)
- Knowledge of:
- Construction processes
- Insurance repair environment
- Cost benchmarking
Financial
- Strong commercial acumen
- Ability to:
- Analyse costs
- Negotiate pricing
- Manage budgets
Problem Solving
- Fast, practical decision-making
- Ability to resolve complex scope/cost issues
