We are looking for school graduates to join our team at Allianz Commercial Cologne as Dual Bachelor’s students (m/f/d).

 

Your Opportunity:

During the program, you will alternate between practical phases (2 to 3 days a week working at Allianz Commercial Cologne) and theory phases (2 to 3 times a week studying at the Technische Hochschule Köln). In the practical phases, you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with multiple business areas within our Underwriting Property and Global Business Operation units (the specific assignments will be tailored to your preferences). Global Business Operations (GBO) at Allianz Commercial: 
Is a trusted partner with strong expertise to deliver best end-to-end policy services for our clients to support the growth journey for Allianz Commercial.
GBO is part of the COO area in Allianz Commercial. As a global function within a global company, GBO serves markets across the world. We are divided into three main regions: Europe, APAC and North America. Each region consists of several countries covering all Allianz Commercial lines of business.
The GBO teams provide policy processing throughout the lifecycle including, but not limited to, submission logging, premium booking and invoicing, policy preparation incl. wording and distribution, creation of RI policy and global client services (ARC, NatCat, NCA and Filenet). 

 

Underwriting Property at Allianz Commercial: 

Within Allianz Commercial the Underwriting Property Team (GER/SUI) is responsible to service our global client portfolio (Fortune 500) out of Germany and Switzerland and is a very trusted and respected market leader in this segment.  
We insure our global key clients against all risk of physical loss or damage, from classical fire insurance to natural perils storm, floods, earthquakes, to political violences and terrorism. We design, price and negotiate and implement global insurance program solutions around the world and are the key Property contact persons for our clients.  

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

 

During Theory Phases: (2 to 3 times a week)

As part of the program, you will study Risk and Insurance Management with a focus on industrial insurance, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree at Technische Hochschule Köln. Your studies will cover key subjects such as general and specialized business administration, industrial insurance, and modules to develop essential skills like presentation techniques.
        
During Practical Phases:  (2 to 3 times a Week at Allianz Commercial)

At Allianz Commercial Cologne, we value trust and responsibility, which means you’ll have the chance to take ownership of your work and actively contribute to our team. During your practical phases, you’ll manage real tasks such as handling insurance contracts, including some with complex reinsurance structures. You’ll participate in projects and collaborate across teams while using tools like PowerPoint and Excel to complete assignments. You’ll also work with IT systems to input data for new and existing insurance businesses, coordinating with our Offshore Team for further processing. Staying organized will be key as you prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, maintain high standards, and ensure compliance with risk management principles. This hands-on experience will help you build valuable skills for your future!

 

Your responsibilities In Global Business Operation – GBO 

You will learn how to collaborate effectively with all our underwriting, claims, third-party, and technical accounting team across the value chain 
You will help with the preparation, participation, and follow-up of meetings with customers/brokers/internal stakeholders.
You will assist in serving our clients and brokers by responding to their requests and managing their policies throughout the year (drawing up contractual documents, certificates, invoicing, payment follow-up) 
You will assist in ensuring the preparation of data required for portfolio renewal as well as the implementation of new business 

 

Your responsibilities in Underwriter Property:

·  You will learn to assess, analyze and price Property risks.  
·  We help you to get a basic understanding of policy wording language and contract design 
·  You will work in global teams and collaborate with various values chain partner (distribution, risk engineers, operations and claims) 
·  You will help, design and support the art of deal crafting and join the negotiations with our key clients and brokers 
·  You will learn to use data analytics applications required for the role including basic probabilistic modelling output

What You’ll Bring to the Role

·  High school diploma or general or specialized university entrance qualification 
·  Independence, quick comprehension, and a sense of responsibility
·  Strong curiosity and a desire to continuously learn and grow personally and professionally.
·  proactive and collaborative approach, contributing to team efforts and taking ownership of individual tasks.
·  Fluent English and German language skills 
·  Good math skills with a strong grasp of basic concepts.
·  Good understanding of Microsoft Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
·  Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work and reside in Germany.
