What you do:

You will focus on derivatives processing, settlement and collateral management which includes daily communication with internal and external parties: traders, counterparties, custodians. This position is responsible for derivative trade input into the Investment Accounting Systems and requires use of controls to ensure accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.  You must have proven ability to meet daily deadlines and work in a fast paced, high volume, high intensity environment.  You will report into the AIM AVP Derivative Operations.

Back and Middle Office Tasks: Ensure accurate processing/maintenance of transactions, market data, and monitor flows into Investment Accounting sub ledger (PAM).  Confirm daily calculations and settlements of multiple derivative types for internally managed accounts.  Research trade and any other operational problems, taking appropriate corrective action. You will also assist with all aspects of the collateral management program.  There will be periodic light accounting research on a US GAAP, STAT and IFRS accounting basis.

Reporting: High attention to detail in preparing and reviewing the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting to internal and external clients across multiple levels. Maintain supporting documentation.

Controls: Responsive to audit and regulatory requests (internal audit, external audit, SEC, State examiners, Financial/Operational Risk and Compliance Depts.). Guarantee accuracy of adequate controls and processes.

Accounting/Reporting Close : Remain calm yet highly focused and effective when under duress, such as when a time-sensitive process fails yet still maintain a strong sense of urgency. Be accountable even during tight deadlines. Overtime may be required during periods of high-volume.

Misc. Skills:  Communicate frequently with all internal clients (management, front-office and other operations personnel). Communicate frequently and with all external clients (brokers, custodians, service providers).

Ability to multi-task while working in deadline-driven, structured and medium to high stress environment. Ability to recognize and escalate issues. Maintain positive attitude and willingness to help the team. Capability to excel in a team environment and working independently.

 

What you bring:

·         1+ years of experience:  Finance, investment or insurance related, derivative experience helpful

·         Four-year degree:  Finance, Accounting or equivalent
