Poste et missions:
The Internal Control Officer (ICO) is responsible and accountable for the oversight and deployment of an Integrated
Risk and Control System (IRCS) within the AWP global, regional and local entities as relevant for each line of
business (LOB). The IC function provides support for internal control programs and projects designed to identify
and manage significant risks related to; Financial Reporting, Information Technology (ITGC), Legal & Compliance
and Operations. This position works closely with the sister functions (Actuarial, Compliance, Audit), Regional Risk
Heads (RRH) and first line of defense functions to ensure the internal control system is effectively integrated within
The role will include:
Manage the IRCS function to support the organizations compliance with governance and regulatory
requirements and obligations related to ensuring an effective system of internal control exists
Development, implementation and management of the IRCS framework (standards, guidelines, functional
rules)
Lead multi-year project to implement IRCS program and supporting tools
Create strategy and risk based methodology to ensure resources focus on key controls supporting core
business objectives, regulatory requirements and our customers / clients
Provide risk and control assessment information and reporting to key stakeholders and recommend actions
where controls are deemed ineffective to ensure the risk is within acceptable tolerances
Establish strong partnerships within the AWP matrix organization and AZ Group to facilitate open
communications, leverage resources, adapt programs, share information and best practices to ensure the
IRCS function is effective and efficient and demonstrates added value
Promote engagement among risk colleagues with opportunities for leadership roles on programs and
projects
Profil:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance with experience ideally in an international environment or equivalent
combination of work and education experience
Risk Management qualification or diploma preferred
3-5 years’ experience in Finance, Risk Management, Audit or Compliance, ideally in the insurance, financial
services or service sector industries
Strong IT user skills, very good user knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Fluency in English
Team player, excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a highly matrixed, multi-cultural context
Preferred skills; influencing others, adaptable to change, pragmatic approach to challenges
