We currently have a first class opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual either seeking their first career position or possibly looking to switch into I.T as a career path.
Whilst undertaking continuous and ongoing training and personal development your role will involve a wide variety of project-based tasks and business support functions. These will include such areas as OSCAR, LabCreate, LabTrac and Online Worksheet for frontline business support. You will also use the following technologies for routine and adhoc report writing: SQL, Crystal Reports and Jasper Reports.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement bespoke I.T. systems within the Alfred H Knight Group.
- Research user requirements and configure the I.T. systems to meet their needs.
- Train users to use the I.T. systems provided effectively.
- Provide 1st level user support for bespoke I.T. systems.
- Record and track all user issues using the tools provided.
- Interpret and document business requirements for new functionality requests (enhancements).
- Document new system functionality and distribute accordingly to users when I.T. systems are upgraded.
- Assist with system testing when required, particularly with regards to U.A.T.
- Plan and execute system upgrades.
- Investigate, analyse and document reported defects.
- Develop and maintain reports to present business data appropriately.
- Perform maintenance on reports and correct identified defects.
- Maintain technical documentation relating to reports.
- Ensure that the Source Control Management system is used effectively to store report definition files.
- Monitor the performance of reports.
- Create scheduled tasks to distribute reports on a regular basis, using the tools supplied.
- Extract data from in-house databases and present the data when required on an ad-hoc basis.
- Assist in other data related activities, such as data migration.
The candidate must have the following skills:
- Degree educated or equivalent in relevant subject
- Basic knowledge of IT and competent using office software tools
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Good attention to detail
- Team player
It would also be desirable to have the following skills:
- Spanish
- Knowledge of software tools used within the AHK Group.
No previous experience necessary, candidates can expect to receive full technical training in all aspects of the role.
Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm with an hour for lunch. 20 days holiday plus the bank holiday increasing by one per year to a maximum of 5. Contributory pension scheme employer 5% employee 4% and life assurance 4 x annual salary.
