The department

Since October 2015 Albert Heijn operates an online store on Alibaba’s TMall Global platform (ah.tmall.hk). Through this cross-border e-commerce construction, Albert Heijn is able to offer a selection of Albert Heijn and Etos products to consumers in China.

The assignment

We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic intern to join our team. In the team we move fast and we are constantly looking for ways to improve the product offerings and services to our Chinese customers. In the same time we are still in the starting blocks of the project and are working on setting-up processes and making the business more robust.

As an intern, you will help on several aspects of this new business. You will play a key-role in evaluating data to help us gain understanding in our business drivers, meaning you will connect the data streams available at our Chinese partners and translate this data into relevant information for Albert Heijn. You will provide insight in sales, margins, logistics and several operational KPI’s that help us steer our business. You will help to develop a model to ensure replenishment of our goods to China. Besides that, you will help the team with issues regarding customs and logistics.

Requirements

·  Minimum of Bachelor’s degree;
·  Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Dutch language is a pre);
·  Outstanding analytical capabilities;
·  Hands-on mentality, start-up attitude;
·  E-commerce affinity;
·  Feeling with numbers and data and exceptional Excel skills;
·  Financial or accounting background;
