The Innovation Team

Working from headquarters, based in Zaandam, the Innovation Team is part of the IT organization connected to Albert Heijn. This team, consisting of 9 colleagues, formulates new inventive (technology enabled) strategies designed and tested especially for Albert Heijn, Etos, Gall & Gall and Bol.com.

These strategies are designed by spotting trends and (technological) developments, as well as taking responses done by startups into account. The Innovation Team is a major contributor to the development of a concept. In addition to this, it also expands the (IT) roadmap based on an ‘outside-in’ view. Our team facilitates and leads the development of innovative concepts – which we, on a small scale, test on our customers and employees. Both means are set up in a ‘lean startup’ way. This process tries to find out the ‘problem-solution fit’ by means of small experiments, resulting in a validation of the ‘product-market fit’ – these trails are carried out on the basis of the Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).

De Baan

As of January 1, 2017 we are looking for an intern concept design & validation that will be able to strengthen our team. Are you curious about the job? Do you have a passion for innovation? Do you have a strategic perspective? Are you enterprising (you get things done)? In this case we are looking for you to strengthen our team!

What we expect from you:

·  You will assist the Innovation Concept developer in the development of new concepts, as well as working together in a team with a designer and developer.
·  You will formulate hypotheses that will be validated during a later stage.
·  You will design trials based on the formulated hypotheses and carry out these trials with the use of customer feedback (in stores and online).
·  You are able to work with a concept developer, designer (intern), as well as frontend/backend developer (intern) to design visual prototypes and Minimum Viable Products.
