About the Role:
We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Sunshine, Melbourne. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for managing preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules, leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, and maintaining accurate records in SAP. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge, planning skills, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage both preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
* Take ownership of the site’s maintenance strategy by planning, scheduling, and executing both preventive and reactive maintenance activities.
* Act as the owner of the site’s SAP-based system, ensuring accurate asset records and maintenance history.
* Coordinate daily maintenance operations and lead weekly planning meetings with production teams to align maintenance schedules with operational demands.
* Generate detailed weekly and monthly reports that track plan adherence, contractor performance, and completed work.
* Manage the site’s spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are always available when needed.
* Coordinate weekly planning meetings with production teams and generate adherence reports.
* Manage and assign contractors to maintenance tasks based on urgency and priority.
* Ensure all contractor work complies with site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
* Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for all significant equipment failures or recurring issues.
* Implement corrective actions and report on RCA KPIs monthly.
What You’ll Bring:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance engineering role
* Experience with SAP or similar CMMS platforms
* Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance
* Proven ability to manage contractors and maintenance budgets
* Familiarity with safety compliance and regulatory standards
* Excellent communication and coordination skills
