Job description
The owner of SMU Procurement data and processes relating to data collection, analysis and presentation.
· Contributes to the execution of the sales, expense and profitability targets established by the SMU by providing analysis, reporting and sourcing support related to the procurement of direct and indirect materials within the SMU.
· Collects, analyses and presents data related to procurement to support the procurement function and manage/reduce external spend.
· Data to be obtained and managed from a variety of sources including:
· MFG-PRO / Sites
· Data warehouses (BW, Cognos)
· Suppliers
· Finance
· Media / Market / External Sources
· Other Procurement sources (Indices, AN portals)
· Understands where the SMU Procurement data is held and how it can be obtained, manipulated, verified (split from other SMU's). Liaise with IM Function.
· Upstream Analysis on feedstocks and markets to understand and forecast key raw material trends:
· Short term impact on key raw material prices
· Mid to long term impact on sourcing strategies
· Downstream analysis on the impacts of raw material price movement:
· By region
· Cash flow and product costs
· Impact of Value Engineering
· Liaise with Finance, Marketing and Laboratories.
· Improve visibility of NPR data
· Manage price/cost forecast documents for SMU, regionally and for selected RM categories.
· Manage and supply procurement savings and cost forecast information into the BA and ANS function.
· Manage data relating to suppliers and liaise with suppliers as required:
· Volume / Rebate Tracking
· Cost Comparisons
· Exchange rate moves and impacts on prices, price lists.

· Act as a business partner delivering information at ‘excellent' levels. Builds and maintains a network of internal and external stakeholders/partners
Desired profile
Have detailed knowledge, support usage of IM tools and systems to develop, improve and safeguard SMU and BA procurement data and knowledge.
· Show high standards of accuracy, efficiency and integrity required to analyse and present confidential and important information that will drive strategic decisions on procurement, make/buy, laboratory work and product pricing.
· Implement BA or AkzoNobel standards and/or best practices
· Highly analytical and numerate. Pro-active. Preferably academic degree with experience.
Be able to work cross-functional and in a complex environment with different business segments. Strong communication skills.
· MS Office (especially solid Excel skills) essential, preferable some experience in working with business data systems.
The role would be equally suited to a candidate with aspirations to become a procurement professional, or someone who enjoys the analytical and business support element.
