Summary:
The Buyer III is responsible for the purchase of non-product related (NPR) materials, service and/or equipment within the policies and guidelines established by the Strategic Market Unit (SMU) Vehicle refinishes (VR), to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply at optimum cost. . This position requires strong cooperation with, and support of, internal customers of the SMU VR NAM, including US, Canada, Mexico and Monterey.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for NPR categories in the SMU VR NAM, in line with the regional sourcing strategy for non-product related (NPR) materials, service and/or equipment.
• Determine the short & mid-term NPR sourcing demands of the Pontiac, MI Springfield, OH manufacturing sites.
• Formulate requirements and specifications, initiate and lead implementation of synergy, cost saving and value engineering programs by working closely with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure correct pricing and conditions are maintained in SAP/SRM.
• Manage/monitor supplier performance (i.e. quality, delivery, etc.) through a variety of purchasing processes supplier scorecard.
• Investigate, recommend and qualify suppliers; implement RFQ's as needed.
• Support the ongoing plant operations while managing the strategic projects for NPR Purchasing.
• Provide monthly updates and deliberate with line management on strategies, priorities and issues and advice budget holders and experts in choosing suppliers of NPR materials.

Desired profile

• Bachelor's degree in business related field (areas of Supply Chain or, Economics strongly preferred).
• Minimum of three (3) years purchasing in a production manufacturing environment required.
• Experience in NPR procurement is a distinct plus.
• Highly demonstrated analytical and strategic planning, as well as strong communication skills.
• Must be capable of multitasking and prioritizing schedules to meet timing requirements.
• Experience with MS Office applications required, with experience working in SAP or similar ERP environment highly desirable.
• Some travel will be required as determined by the NAMVR Lead Buyer.
