Job description
AkzoNobel, headquartered in the Netherlands, is a large multi-national company with global presence and market leading positions in coatings and specialty chemicals. The central Treasury & Investor Relations function is responsible for Treasury, Investor Relations and Insurance for the global group.
Within the function, Treasury manages corporate finance, financial risk, liquidity, cash management and in-house payment processes. We support the business as one global team, located in Shanghai, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Chicago and Arnhem.
The North America hub manages the treasury activities for the USA, Canada and Mexico.
The Treasury Operations Specialist plays a key role in delivering treasury processes. The role provides frontline business support to AkzoNobel businesses in the region and ensures treasury and liquidity management processes are executed in-line with the global Treasury standards.
Treasury business partner
· Act as a treasury business partner for the businesses (BU, sBU, SMU, local entity), country organizations and relevant corporate functions (Control,
· Accounting, Legal, Tax) with focus on the region.
· Treasury contact for addressing business issues on payments and banking
· Support businesses with accessing and using Treasury systems
· Deploy directives, provide guidance and give training on treasury topics
· Monitor compliance of executed treasury transactions in line with company policies
· Monitor and resolve questions and problems raised by various business partners in the Treasury case management system
· Deliver treasury processes and expertise
· Execute daily treasury processes including generating internal bank statements and processing external payments within the AkzoNobel
· House bank and Payment Factory
· Assist with regional cash flow forecasting and liquidity management including the borrowing / depositing of funds from central Treasury
Operations
· Perform daily execution of regional payment factory activities. This includes engaging with businesses, IT and central Treasury on relevant issues, exceptions and execution using best practices.
· Perform daily bank reconciliations leading to engagement with bank and business contacts.
· Reconcile Treasury general ledger accounts
· Prepare and organize bank and business reporting including bank statements, rejected payments, check management, fee analysis and KPIs
· Implement changes and improvements to existing banking software, systems and structures (continuous regional process improvement).
Continuous improvements
· Participate in projects to continuously improve the function, especially where we touch the business; e.g. regular communications (update website), develop training materials, review CSAT / in-control.

Desired profile
· Bachelor"s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
· Strong IT skills including proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office
· 1-2 years of treasury back-office experience
· Good communicator, both orally and in writing
· Fluent in English
