The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) is a unique international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria. VIE main requirements:
· European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old
· Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any

Airbus Secure Land Communications GmbH supplies turnkey telecommunications solutions for the German-speaking region for the Airbus Public Safety and Security program unit. This includes the world's largest TETRA radio network in the Federal Republic of Germany. Over 1,109,000 users of authorities and organizations with security tasks (police, fire brigade, etc.) rely on the secure communication solutions in the BOS digital radio around the clock.
By VIE you could support as a Solution Engineer (m/f/d) in our department "Solutions Management – Mobile Communications" within Airbus Secure Land Communications GmbH in Ulm .
The university town Ulm is beautifully located at the river Danube between Munich (155km away) and Stuttgart (90km away) and offers a wide range of leisure and cultural activities. The contract duration of VIE is 12 months with starting date from February/March 2025 .

Tasks & accountabilities:
Your main task will include:
· Participate in system engineering and system design to integrate TETRA/TETRAPOL with broadband (LTE/5G/6G, WLAN) to an overarching, secure communication and collaboration solution including tactical management applications, IoT and referring smartphone apps
· Shape as Scrum team member our modern, agile working methods in project organized according to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
· Identify system dependencies and drive the clarification of technical requirements in cross-functional collaboration with other Scrum teams (e.g., data center virtualization, IT networking, cyber security), with development departments, with subcontractors, and of course with the customer
· Specify the seamless integration of the different components into a coherent overall solution and the integration of the solution into the IT environments of our customers with appropriate robustness, performance and IT security.
· Get actively involved in developing innovative concepts and defining technical developments according to customer needs.
Required Skills:
You have the following skills and experience:
· Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Communications Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
· Knowledge or willingness to familiarise yourself with mobile communications/ telecommunications systems, IoT and mobile services, IT management systems, data center technologies / cloud architectures, IT security
· Experience with Scrum/SAFe (and maybe referring tool like Confluence/Jira)
In addition, you are capable to demonstrate the following skills:
· Analytical thinking
· Goal-oriented, systematic and thorough system engineering approach
· Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively
· Language Skills: advanced/negotiation level of German, advanced level of English
