Our department, central Manufacturing Engineering (~15 people on 5 sites in France & Germany), dedicated to surface protection processes (linked with all materials metal & composite) for both serial & future needs, is responsible for projects to reduce products & processes costs, ensure ramp-ups, reduce non-quality costs, ensure and anticipate regulation changes for all our Airbus Commercial plants.

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Your tasks and responsibilities
In this job, you will contribute to drive key surface processes activities, working in a Multi-functional Team (Engineering, Manufacturing, Testing, Procurement, Supply chain Quality), and with the local Manufacturing Engineering surface network (plants and Final Assembly Lines). You will also be in contact with external stakeholders (suppliers, laboratories).
You will act as technical focal point and project manager for key projects, focused on surface protection technologies: surface treatment, structural paints and varnishes, sealants and associated jointing products, external paints. This includes the following activities:

Proposing and developing new technologies in frame of R&T projects,
·
Contributing to Multi-Functional Teams (Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement,...) including external partners when necessary,
·
Ensuring activities are done in Time / Cost / Quality / Performance, for R&T and serial projects,
·
Proposing solutions to ensure key programme targets (cost reduction, ramp-up, maturity adherence...),
·
Ensuring pain points are captured in the surface protection field for further harmonized development and gap projects,
·
Supporting technically local Manufacturing Engineering teams when necessary through problem solving approach and continuous improvement projects (e.g. waste reduction, dissemination of technologies),
·
Supporting Procurement when necessary concerning product supply and business continuity,
·
Leading risks & opportunities management with regards to those projects,
·
Reporting to internal customers on progress.
Desired skills and qualifications
As the successful candidate, you are able to demonstrate the following skills, competences and experiences:

Master Degree in Engineering school/University - metal or composite material engineering, chemical engineering/corrosion, process engineering (chemistry),
·
Technical knowledge on Materials & Processes and manufacturing procedures,
·
Manufacturing Engineering background with experiences in the field of surface protection technologies would be a plus,
·
Understanding of the requirements of intellectual property, technical standards and regulations,
·
Autonomously working within a team and taking responsibility,
·
Strong ability to work in Multi-Functional Teams (M&P Engineering, Procurement, Programme, plants,...),
·
Good stakeholder management skills,
·
Successful experience in project management can be a plus,
·
Ability to convince people,
·
You feel comfortable with managing complex & dynamic projects in a transnational environment,
·
Agility,
·
Anticipation mindset,
·
Strong culture of challenges!
·
Negotiation level in English.
