The Ecodesign team, hosted within the Regulatory Compliance and Sustainability (RC&S) department in Airbus Defence and Space, is a dynamic team, working hand-in-hand with the projects, designers, and acting as a supportive and evolving community.
The team’s expertise and responsibility focus on the environmental performance of AD products. The ecodesign team is responsible, among others, for the definition and the implementation of activities aiming to measure and reduce the environmental impacts of Airbus Defence and Space’s products throughout their life cycle in close collaboration with the different Business Units of the company. The RC&S department also hosts two other environmental roadmaps, namely the Industrial Environmental Roadmap and the Substance Roadmap, with which the Ecodesign Roadmap has various links and synergies.
Definition VIE
The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Your tasks and responsibilities
The mission will be to support various ecodesign activities and to develop further the synergies between the Ecodesign and the Industrial Environmental roadmap:
·
Define and consolidate typical LCA data input in terms of site and industrial means environmental performance (energy, gas & water consumption, waste generation)
·
Perform Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) (e.g. for customer projects, materials, parts, ...)
·
Define and initiate the feedback loop from LCA studies results back to the relevant AD environmental roadmap (ecodesign, industrial, substance, procurement...)
·
Investigate the opportunity of LCA/Ecodesign into PLM tools
·
Support the ecodesign team on internal engagement activities in order to raise awareness and proficiency around the topic (technical communication, awareness & training, site contents,...)
·
Take actively part in the ecodesign team run mode and ways of working (weekly ecodesign team meeting, monthly PMO reviews, quarterly department workshop,...)
·
Due to re-organization in the team some other activities might be requested in the environmental perimeter
Desired skills and qualifications
·
University degree in Natural Science, Environment, Chemistry, Industrial or equivalent.
·
Demonstrated experience in performing LCA (i.e. using Simapro, OpenLCA or Gabi) on satellites in a satellite company and experience with European bodies (ESA)
·
Soft skills: working in a transnational environment, autonomy, analysis and structured way of thinking and presentation skills.
·
Previous experience within aerospace industry is a plus
·
Understanding of product related environmental regulations (i.e. REACH, RoHS, BPR…) is a plus
·
Languages: English at negotiation level, additional languages (i.e. French, German, Spanish) are a plus
