Software Development Engineer for Navigation Technology (d/f/m)

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsiblities

·  Development of new sensor fusion approaches for collaborative navigation such as centralized fusion approach and derivation of SW architecture
·  Implementation of navigation architectures and concepts (navigation filter, sensor data processing and other navigation algorithms) in MATLAB
·  Code cleanup and code refactoring of existing code including recursive testing
·  Integration of the navigation SW into larger simulation environment based on C/C++
·  Integration of navigation SW and navigation sensors on an embedded computer
·  Setup of a hardware in the loop (HILS) simulation to stimulate the navigation SW on the target computer
·  Conduction of simulations and analysis of the results

Desired skills and qualifications

·  A completed diploma/master's degree in informatics or a comparable discipline
·  Design of SW architectures using UML modelling and Cameo
·  Excellent programming skills in MATLAB (incl. object-oriented programming and programmatic GUI) and C/C++, etc.
·  Profound experience of sensor fusion based on extended Kalman filter (e.g. modelling of non-linear sensors measurement equations and Jacobians)
·  Experience in the analysis of Kalman filter and solving of issues (e.g. bug fixing, Kalman filter tuning)
·  Sound knowledge of navigation systems and their mathematics (navigation sensors, coordinate transformation, strap-down algorithm, …)
·  Deep knowledge of System of Systems in the context of navigation
·  Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is a plus
·  Analytical thinking skills, independent working style and good communication skill
·  The ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary team
·  Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English, German language skills are advantageous
