Job Description

Airbus – Brize Norton

Our Team at Brize Norton are on the UK Government’s critical personnel key worker list for ‘public safety and national security’, as the service that we provide is critical to the delivery of key defence outputs and essential to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our contract with the MOD states we will provide a continuous service to cover on a 24 hours, 7 days a week and 365 days a year to the Royal Air Force, to maintain and ensure airworthiness of their fleet of aircraft.

Our services include both direct and indirect functions which all work together to provide the airworthiness total service – including maintenance planners; licensed line maintenance engineers; technical services including structures and systems specialists; facilities management; security;  and health and safety etc.

Planning Engineer

A permanent opportunity has arisen for a Planning Engineer to join our Airbus A400M CAMO Services team at Airbus Support Centres UK based in RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.

Reporting directly to the CAW Manager you will be requires close liaison with the customer’s MilCAM and MRP Part 145 Line Maintenance organization on site, and with the Airbus and other external EASA Part 145 base maintenance organisations, to ensure contractual targets and service levels are achieved.

Tasks and Accountabilities

The Planning Engineer is responsible for:

·  You will provide a maintenance planning service, identifying maintenance task requirements for the A400M fleet and ensuring all tasks are packaged into work packs for execution by all internal or external base maintenance organisations.
·  You will responsible for planning offsite base maintenance inputs as required.
·  You will ensure all aircraft maintenance is controlled, planned and managed correctly to the relevant maintenance plans.
·  You will liaise and coordinate with FTAM to ensure the maintenance planning elements are included within the Integrated Through-Life Plan (ITLP).
·  You will liaise with Airbus DS UK Materials Supply and the relevant maintenance organisations, to ensure effective and efficient planning of all maintenance and modification requirements to ensure all tooling and manpower is brought together to support the accomplishment of the work pack.
·  You will liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers to ensure service levels are maintained.
·  You will be responsible for entering and maintaining A400M maintenance planning data in the customer's Ground Computer Information System (GCIS).
·  You will be responsible for managing projects and assignments as directed by the CAMO Services Manager.

Skills and Experience

·  Engineering Degree, EASA Part 66 Licence, or equivalent technical qualification. (Applicants who do not satisfy the qualifications, but can demonstrate adequate practical experience, may be considered)
·  Experience in a maintenance planning role.
·  Experience of the aircraft operational environment
·  Knowledge of aircraft maintenance programmes / task cards / work-pack / airworthiness directives and service bulletins
·  Knowledge of EASA Part M regulations
·  Knowledge of EASA Part 145 regulations.

The requirements of the role require you to hold a UK passport or a passport issued by a country with which A400M has an export control licence and be able to satisfy the security clearance requirements necessary for access to a UK military establishment, and work in a security sensitive environment
