We are looking for a Packaging Engineer (d/f/m) to join our team Warehouse Operations in Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel.
We are a team with diverse profiles and a strong, collaborative spirit that serves as the link between Satair’s subcontractors and our internal stakeholders. Our primary goal is to constantly seek for improvements in the warehouse performance and thereby enhance the customer experience. We are looking for a professional who can contribute with their ideas and expertise to a team that values both results and a positive, supportive atmosphere.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

Developing and implementing compliant packaging solutions for sensitive aerospace components (e.g. avionics, turbine blades, sensors…) while meeting strict timelines and budgets, ensuring quality standards and reducing environmental impact.

Product Integrity: Ensuring product integrity against physical damage, corrosion, and electrostatic discharge throughout global supply chains in adherence to commercial specifications.

Vendor Management: Building and maintaining relationships with external vendors and suppliers; negotiating terms for materials and printing services.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with aerospace standards (ATA Spec 300) and dangerous goods regulations (IATA DGR / 49 CFR).

Process Analysis: Analyzing existing packaging workflows to identify and implement potential improvements for sustainability, efficiency and cost reduction, and adjusting working instructions accordingly.
ABOUT YOU
·
Educational Background: Degree in Engineering (Packaging, Design) or a related technical discipline such as Logistics.
·
Industry Expertise: Experience in developing protective packaging for high-value components, ideally within the aerospace or high-tech sector.
·
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of ATA Specification 300 and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).
·
Technical & IT Skills: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Satair).
·
Work Style: A proactive, solution-oriented, and service-minded approach with a high level of attention to detail.
·
Vendor/Supplier Management: Strong vendor management and negotiation skills regarding material selection and services
·
Language skills: Negotiation-level proficiency in English. Good German skills are a plus.
