Description of the job
A vacancy has arisen as Occupational Health Nurse Advisor for the Airbus Broughton plant, offering a comprehensive occupational service to the business. The role covers the full Occupational Health (OH) remit which includes sickness absence, management referrals and health surveillance. The successful candidate must have the ability to work autonomously, but know their own limitations and seek support and advice from peers when needed. The role will require excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good working relationships with the business units and Human Resources.
This position is for 35 hours per week but job share would be considered, and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Tasks & accountabilities
The main tasks and responsibilities will include:
· Case management: complete comprehensive functional capability assessments on employees who are absent from work or referred by the line manager, giving advice to both the employee and business regarding fitness to work.
· Health surveillance: perform the required health surveillance procedures and interpret results in line with department procedure / policy. Advising the employee and business when appropriate of the outcome of the results.
· Production and maintenance of confidential medical records. Adhering to the standards as defined by the NMC and internal policies and procedures.
· Participate in development of health promotion programmes designed to inform and educate workers about health issues at work.
· Respond to an injured / unwell employee in line with departmental policies.
· Support the OH management and administration team, contribute in the running of the department and take an active informed interest in development of policies and procedures.
This role may involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Required skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
· Registered General Nurse level 1,12.
· Demonstrated experience in Occupational Health Nursing within the Aerospace / Manufacturing industry.
· A qualification in Occupational Health.
· Certified HAVS assessor - desirable.
· NEBOSH certificate desirable but not essential.
· Industrial Audiometry / Spirometry certificate and other specialist skills desirable.
· Interpersonal, communication and motivational skills.
· Fluent English language skills, other languages would be a plus.
