Description of the job

·  To ensure the delivery of MSGE and tooling on time and ready to use to the manufacturing / build team.
·  To attend the Go meeting and liaise between the MGSE coordination eng, MGSE project eng and the manufacturing team to ensure the timely delivery of MGSE and timely return to stores after use.
·  To ensure all MGSE documentation, log books and insurance inspections are fully maintained.
·  To assist with the ongoing inspection and maintenance of the MGSE
·  To provide small adhoc tooling as required to support the structure team
·  To give MGSE support to the daily SQCDP shop floor meeting
·  To support the area controllers with 5S activities
·  Ensure quality and process robustness through continuous review and improvement of processes

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

·  To ensure the delivery of MSGE and tooling on time and ready to use to the manufacturing / build team.
·  Definition and procurement of small bespoke mission tooling to support manufacturing
·  An awareness of safety issues associated with Mechanical Handling Equipment
·  Advise on Health and safety or regulatory compliance related issues including safe use of staging.
·  MGSE support to critical moves process / deliveries
·  Support to new MGSE handover to shop floor and Eng team
·  MGSE support for user manual or log book enquiries / management.
·  Management of the MGSE consumable stores.
·  Support process investigations near miss / NCR's / FMEA / root cause analysis / second closure / lessons learnt and PPS
·  To develop and build relationships internally and work closely to support the manufacturing team
·  Actively seek to develop own learning and skills
·  Ability to deliver multiple tasks to set time frames with minimal supervision
·  Able to organise and manage own workload
·  The ability to understand and use company systems and software
·  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
·  Responsible for the delivery of MGSE and Tooling to manufacturing on Quality and Schedule.
·  Suggest process improvements considering business benefits
·  Takes responsibility for implementing improvements
·  Awareness of the need to involve others as required

Required skills

·  HNC / ONC or equivalent in an Engineering related discipline or sufficient relevant experience
·  Typically 2 year's relevant experience in a Manufacturing based / design engineering role.
·  Appreciation of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment & Tooling manufacturing techniques
·  Creation of technical reports
·  Apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.
·  Experienced in dealing with customers and suppliers
·  Space, Aerospace, Manufacturing Sector ideal or any other Engineering sector
·  A background in an engineering environment, preferably within the space sector
·  Excellent communication and presentation skills
·  Experienced in technical documentation writing
·  A good understanding of MGSE/tooling manufacture and design philosophies
