Description of the job

A vacancy for a “Mechanical Systems Installation Engineer” (m/f/d) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join „ Airframe / Mechanical Systems Design & Integration“.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

A) Development:

·  Integration of the mechanical systems (e.g. bleed air, climate, fuel, hydraulics, ...) in consideration of the specification and in coordination with system departments and customers.

·  Coordination of interfaces with internal and external partners.

·  Creation of design and pre-construction models of the basic mechanical systems using 3D CAD and data management systems in a DMU-based process.

·  Detailed product data for fixtures, assemblies and individual parts, in coordination with the specialist departments involved in the process.

·  Incorporation of changes for product improvement.

·  Supervision of production and final assembly.

B) Repair:

·  Assessment of damage to the aircraft structure and to aircraft systems due to corrosion, cracks, dents, etc. and creation of damage analysis.

·  Preparation of technical statements and development of repair solutions and drawings within the scope of depot repair. Execution of reverse engineering activities using 3D scanners.

·  Analysis of the target/actual configuration, investigation of alternative materials, standard parts and adaptation of the construction documentation to the current status.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Degree in engineering (aerospace engineering).

·  Safe handling of the flow commitment reference documents, construction documents and modification documents.

·  Experience in the field of system integration and repair procedures on aircraft including geometry feedback.

·  P-3C Orion / AWACS System knowledge and experience desirable.

·  Distinct experience in handling CATIA V5 and product data management systems.

·  Knowledge of configuration management.

·  Good technical understanding.

·  Independent and proactive working style / ability to work in a team.

·  Experience with MS Office products and PDF.

·  Fluent in German and English.
