Description

I4D Backend Solutions is a set of home-products designed to store, catalogue and disseminate geospatial data from various sources such as Pleiades satellite images. It consists of core reusable components, along with plugins designed for specific projects. It is deployed either on legacy VMWare infrastructures or on cloud environments, either being private on OpenShift or public like Google for example. It is actively maintained and fosters significant developments in an innovative context, mainly in the field of intelligence centers.

A new position has arisen within Airbus DS GEO for an experienced software developer in the I4D Backend Solutions team. The jobholder is in charge of participating to the development of the I4D Backend product features, lead technical decisions for its actual and future components and brings his expertise on specific project deployment. He mainly provides expertise to support his teammates and to follow feature implementation from design to deployment.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

The main tasks on which the jobholder will be accountable for are:

·  Contribute to the development of I4D backend products, on current and planned features, and eventually coordinate technical units of work
·  Be involved to prospect response redaction
·  Participate actively to the definition of the technical roadmap
·  Analyze defects and implements bug fixes or evolutions, under the supervision of a technical leader
·  Produce the reference design documentation for the components to reach or maintain an industrial level of maturity
·  Work closely with system architects in order to meet the technical and functional expectations
·  Drive specific technical studies (spikes) in order to assess the viability of critical choices
·  Keep the pace with the various technologies, standards and protocols in use
·  Participate in the scaled-agile organization

This role could involve occasional travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Skills & Experience

The candidate must have the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to Master's degree in Software Engineering or IT
·  Strong development experience on Java and/or C# on backend systems, and possibly other languages such as C++
·  Good experience in software design and architecture
·  Taking part to geomatics concepts may be an asset (GIS)
·  Hands-on continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
·  Good knowledge of ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL
·  Good practice of standard development stacks, such as Eclipse, Git, Jira, Confluence, …
·  Good experience in agile-enabled teams, in industrial contexts
·  Synthetic, rigorous and consistent
·  Proactive and good communication skills
·  Advanced level of English
