IT Infrastructure Project Manager - Maternity Cover

  • Copenhagen (København)
  • IT development

Job description

Job Description:

Are you looking for new IT Infrastructure Projects to be realized? Have you got experience in driving IT Infrastructure Projects from their start to their delivery (preferably on time)? Do you like managing different stakeholders and ensuring coordination? If yes, this maternity cover position within Infrastructure & Operations might be of your interest! The preferred start date would be April 2025 (duration 16 months) and no later than May 2025.

Our good colleagues in Infrastructure & Operations have been privileged by a marvelous IT Infrastructure Project Manager. With the amount of projects ongoing and in the pipeline, we’re looking for the right person to step in and help us progress during the maternity leave.

The position is based in our headquarters in Copenhagen and will remain here. For the initial part of the employment, we believe that presence will be an important factor to ensure a proper hand-over and introduction. We estimate the duration to be 16 months but, depending on the circumstances it might be extended.

What the job is …

We’re looking for a person who finds excitement in Project Management because it involves people, technical aspects, planning and communication. Bringing together the right people and establishing the overview and not least sharing it in terms of communication, should come naturally to you. Experience is good but your mindset, lack of fear of failure and attitude towards learning and improving is equally important in our eyes.

Your role is a central element between many technical colleagues and non-technical colleagues. You will need to be the facilitator and coordinator in many aspects between these audiences.

We rely on structure and hope that you too appreciate this. To support this, we use JIRA and Google Workspace meaning experience with these tools is a strong benefit. They are used to communicate and provide an overview towards your colleagues.

An important element of the role is understanding urgency and helping to put attention to deadlines and deliverables. It obviously requires an element of pacing and ensuring that all parties have the same priorities, here your efforts are important.

To mention a few of the projects we need your engagement and support in, we can mention integrating a subsidiary onto our technical platform and establishing new locations for our company. Common nominator is that complexity is high and deadlines are critical.

In the role as Project Manager, you will provide many statuses and host many meetings. Being able to take ownership and demonstrating our level of control, therefore relies greatly on your own preparation and presentation skills.

Key responsibilities

·
Engage and learn from our valued IT Infrastructure Project Manager who will soon engage a far greater task (absolute priority)

·
Identity, describe and maintain our project portfolio in the systems we use (JIRA and Google Workspace)

·
Communicate and inform stakeholders of current statuses and progress (from start to finish)

·
Facilitate and host meetings related to project gates and milestones, based on the internal framework developed by Airbus

·
Liaise with suppliers and technical team, to quantify costs related to initiatives so we ensure our budgets are aligned and kept

·
Assist with Portfolio Management, building of our roadmap, and update management on the high level priorities progress

How you will contribute to the team

You offer experience from previous positions that preferably has a red line to the discipline of Project Management. The experience (hopefully) tells you that for every start, there’s an element of uncertainty which has to be addressed and managed. Your approach would ideally be to break a big task into smaller pieces, as you acknowledge that everything isn’t done in one stroke but, more likely, several involving different colleagues. We hope to see that you have experience with the traditional Waterfall methodology along with Agile disciplines.

You enjoy working with tasks and appreciate adding structure e.g. in terms of visible planning. You take personal pride in communicating our progress and ensure that the message is easily understood. We can’t take for granted that all stakeholders have the technical expertise, meaning your ability to adapt the message matters.

You have an interest in IT Infrastructure and know the overall aspects. We don’t expect you to be a technician within a certain area but, we foresee that knowing the basics will be of big help to everyone.

You’re not scared by tasks where the goal is known but all of the means might not be identified yet. Many big IT Infrastructure projects have elements and dependencies to other areas than the one in topic, it’s therefore your responsibility to help us identify these so we can make qualified decisions.

As Satair is an international company, it is positive if you are motivated by working with colleagues from different cultures and in different locations. Satair is a subsidiary of Airbus and has strong connections to the IT/IS side in Airbus - we therefore see it as a plus if you have experience from working in a large organisation previously.

The company language is English so you will need to be able to practise this at a professional level.

What are we looking for? How much experience? What type of experience?

·
General understanding of IT and operations (network, communication, security, hardware etc.)

·
1-3 years of experience in a similar position

·
An education relevant for the position or 3-5 years of hands on experience

·
Knowledge and experience with JIRA and hopefully Google Workspace

·
Fluent in English both written and verbally

·
Can offer valid references to attest your experience/skills/personality

·
A curious mindset and problem solving attitude
