INTERNSHIP Zero-emissions Configuration Multidisciplinary Optimisation (m/f)

As part of a school curriculum in initial training , you are looking for a mandatory internship or integrated into a gap year that will allow you to validate your studies. The internship duration is 4 to 6 months maximum.

We are looking for an Intern on Zero-emissions Configuration Multidisciplinary Optimisation (m/f) who will be joining us at Airbus site in Toulouse .
This internship is to be filled from 04/2020 (keep in mind that hiring process takes about 4 months, from the validation of Job Requisition) (the dates are subject to a certain flexibility)
You will be joining the department « ZDMR » which activities include the development of capabilities to trade different aircraft and business architectures in different economic and ecological scenarios
The objective of the internship is to trade different hydrogen and kerosene aircraft configurations using multi-disciplinary design optimization and compare their economic performances as well as their ecological performances
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
· Tasks and Responsibilities :
You will be working under the supervision of your manager who will help you identify your professional objectives and support you in the development of your skills.
Your main activities will include:
- Integrate and/or develop missing propulsion models using different energies in the multi-disciplinary optimization platform
- Validate the different technology models compared to existing technologies and potential future technologies
- Configure and run different preliminary aircraft design using multi-disciplinary design optimization
- Analyse the results and prepare a wrap-up to explain the major outcomes
- Work in Agile SCRUM way of working for easy integration with the rest of the team
· Required skills :
You are preparing a diploma level BAC+5 in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent, with specialization in preliminary aircraft design and you obtain following competences:
- English: ( ADVANCEd )
- French: ( BEGINNER )
- Your first experience in aircraft sizing
- You are interested in in environmental topics and impact of design on environment
- You have a good knowledge of mathematics and its application for aircraft multi-disciplinary optimization
- You are able to use proficiently such tools as python
· Soft skills:
- Rigorous, curious and autonomous
- Obtain good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to integrate into team and be a flexible team player
- Independent in the usage and development of digital solutions
- Have organizational skills
- Able to analyse and synthesize information
