Duration: 3-6 months

For the market success of each aircraft a minimal separation distance at landing is crucial. The allowed separation distance is driven by the aircraft's wake vortex characteristics. In this context it is of particular interest for Airbus to accurately predict the vorticity field behind the aircraft with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

·  Familiarization with state-of-the-art CFD calculation processes inside and outside Airbus for aircraft in High-Lift configuration
·  Preparation, running and processing of CFD calculations
·  Comparison of obtained results with other data sources (e.g. Wind Tunnel measurements)
·  Analyzing the effect of numerical parameter variations on the predication ability

Required skills

You offer:

·  Enrolled master student within Aerospace Engineering, Aerodynamics or similar field of study
·  Windows & Linux, Programming skills (e.g. Python or MATLAB)
·  Initial experience with CFD (incl. meshing) required, preferably with flow solver Tau
·  Post processing experience with Tecplot, ENSIGHT is a plus
·  English: fluent
·  Basics in German would be a plus

You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independent.
