Core activities include the design, engineering and support for Airbus wings, fuel systems and landing gear Integration. We develop our people to work on systems, structures and aerodynamics research, development and test facilities.

We have 2 exciting new opportunities available for Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Engineer Single Aisle in airbus Filton. In this role you will be expected to produce F&DT analysis to deliver optimised engineering solutions on the Single Aisle programme.
The job holder will support specific activities in the Single Aisle perimeter – Engineering F&DT leads and seniors, Chief Engineer's team, functional seniors and airworthiness authorities, showing an ability to influence all stakeholders.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

·  Perform and deliver the F&DT analysis of the components impacted by the Single Aisle activities
·  Ensure engineering solutions are optimised in terms of strength and weight at integrated wing level.
·  Support the team leader to produce Design schemes, reviews, data for manufacture to the required stress and quality standards.
·  Ensure the structural design meets programme airworthiness and product requirements.
·  Show an ability to influence all stakeholders and customers
·  Perform F&DT analysis & deliverables (stress dossiers, interface loads reports, test and certification reports, Etc.)
·  Establish personal development plan to further develop technical and behavioural competencies.
·  Produce reports and presentations conveying required messages to functional seniors and potentially to airworthiness authorities.

Required skills

·  Single Aisle product knowledge and F&DT process experience (preferred though not essential)
·  Demonstrate a sound knowledge of fundamental stress principles and methods including hand calculation and linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA); ability to select appropriate methods and identify critical failure modes and appropriate design precautions for metallic and composite structures.
·  Knowledge of Airbus stress methods, tools and processes (or equivalent)
·  Ability to analyse and solve technical problems
·  Ability to interface with internal and external design teams
·  Flexibility and dedication to ensure timely completion of critical activities.
