Job Description:

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Configuration Verification team member to join the Product Inspection team at the Kinston NC facility.

This role will be critical in monitoring full adherence to the various manufacturing and quality processes within our facility to ensure compliance with the stringent quality and regulatory standards in the aviation industry. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert who is passionate about process confirmation, manufacturing and operational excellence.

Your Working Environment:
The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

Your Challenges:

· 
Conducts audits, verify compliance with customer requirements, and ensures documentation accurately reflects the actual aircraft state. 

· 
Participate in program design reviews to develop internal processes to meet customer configuration management requirements. 

· 
Perform BOM analysis for initial program builds and on-going engineering changes as well as reallocations to ensure configuration controls are maintained. 

· 
Identify and communicate configuration control concerns with internal organizations to resolve all inconsistencies. 

· 
Acts as a focal point between Engineering, Production, Quality, and external stakeholders. 

· 
Analyze build records for shipping and communicate open work requirements to internal organizations for resolution. 

· 
Ensure all shipping documents are in compliance with all requirements for shipping with the hardware and/or electronic transmission to the customer. 

· 
Manage configuration data, ensuring traceability and creations of required documentation (Bill of Materials, drawings, reports). 

· 
Coordinate directly with the OEM customer to resolve any issues or concerns identified.  

· 
Develop and improve configuration management (CM) plans, processes, and tools. 

 

Your Boarding Pass:

· 
Basic computing skills with moderate proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. 

· 
Required attributes include detail-oriented person with strong analytical, organizational and communication (listening/verbal/written) skills. 

· 
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills

· 
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with internal teams through all levels of the organization and functions

· 
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment

· 
High degree of flexibility and initiative.

Effective verbal and written communication skills, specifically in English, which is required for operating in a multicultural and multifunctional environment.

Willingness to travel up to 5% to domestic and/or international customers or suppliers 

Preferred 

· 
Associates degree in Aviation, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred. 

·  1-3 years of experience in Configuration Verification and Aviation experience. 

· 
Experience using SAP. 

· 
Previous aviation configuration verification experience. 

· 
Available for overtime hours as needed to ensure work is completed. 

· 
Familiarity with enterprise configuration management system. 

· 
Experience with aerospace-specific tools such as SAP, MES systems, and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).

Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Daily able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment.

Carrying: Weekly able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.  

· 
Lifting:  Weekly able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. 

· 
Pushing / Pulling:  Several times a month able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.  

· 
Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.  

· 
Squatting / Kneeling:  Daily able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. 

· 
Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.  

· 
Travel:  Once or twice a year able to travel independently and at short notice.  

· 
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.  

· 
Personal Protective Equipment required:  Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site 

· 
Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
