Description of the job

Location: Stevenage
Duration: 12months
Application closing date: 3rd November

To stay on top, Airbus recognises the importance of supporting high-achieving and talented undergraduates. We do this through offering challenging internship opportunities during which your skills and potential are fully maximised.

Our internships give a unique insight into potential career paths within Airbus. They are designed so that you can put your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain crucial industry experience. The skills and knowledge you gain will improve your chances of a future role within the Airbus and should benefit your future studies.

An intern on AOCS/GNC (Attitude and Orbital Control System/Guidance, Navigation and Control) is required to join a team of engineers who work on current and future space missions. The internship is a stimulating blend of learning and technical work and the successful candidate will gain extensive experience in the design and analysis of space mission GNC, for both small studies and large projects. The department provides the AOCS/GNC engineering analysis and support to a number of large ESA projects currently being conducted at Airbus Defence and Space.

The internship profile requires a candidate with an excellent numerate background and preferably background in an aerospace related discipline, ideally with computer programming content and a specialisation in robotics. Experience in the use of Matlab and Simulink, mathematical modelling, control engineering and computer simulations would again be highly beneficial.
