Description of the job :
We are looking for a 3rd line NOC Support Engineer to join our team in Corsham who provide service, support, and management capabilities to the Defence Information Infrastructure, from delivery into live service, providing all aspects of continued management of the live infrastructure though to close down.

Reporting directly to the NOC Team Lead you will provide technical assistance and instructional documentation to other Resolver Groups and to the 4th line engineers in Hook.

You will provide an interface to other technical stakeholders for our clients including Architects, other engineering disciplines, and sub-contractors.

Task & accountabilities :
• You will be the lead in resolving service incidents, applying diagnosis, maintenance, change and configuration control attributes to bring about a resolution.
• You will apply technical governance to inbound deliveries from the project design phase to ensure they reflect the live environment, and are structured to ensure successful technical service delivery.
• You will perform and provide outputs within the service contract time constraints.
• You will promote efficiency into technical delivery as an essential influence and author of departmental and inter departmental process.
• You will provide concise documentation to help provide services.
• You will advocate for the accomplishment of industry standard and vendor specific certifications and complimentary academic qualifications, including those under the umbrella of Cisco, and topics in advanced networking.
• You will be a subject matter expert for specific technical areas, or tools applicable to the DII Network.
• You will participate in the ‘on call’ function as needed by the service contract and our needs.

Required skills :
• Degree Qualified or equivalent with vendor Specific and Industry Accreditations
• Technical competence in Networking, with an understanding of other technologies, such as Windows, SAN, Security, Virtualisation.
• Interpret and produce, tracking technical documentation.
• Perform the technical and operational service elements that are delivered.
• You will have a heightened awareness of Security including compliance with JSP 440 as part of everyday working.

This role is based Corsham, Wiltshire, with occasional requirements for business travel within the UK

You will need to be eligible to gain UK SC/DV Security Clearance to undertake the role.
