The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) programme is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).

VIE Main Requirements:
- European Union citizens, graduates up to 28 years old
- Have fulfilled military obligations for their country.
- Have a previous experience working abroad.
- Fluent in English
A vacancy for a VIE Project Leader has arisen within Airbus UK in Filton. As the successful applicant you will join the A330/A340 Programme Team, and will report directly to the Landing Gear Major Projects Manager in providing assistance to the ATA32 (Landing Gear) Continuous Product Development (CPD) activities. Principally you will support a Work Package Leader to deliver high-profile, major project developments (such as A330 NEO) aimed at enhancing the Airbus fleet offering to our Customers. You will support process enhancement to support project efficiencies and development, as well as taking responsibility for a key work package and further developing a wide range of Program and Project Management skills. You will work closely with the Multi
- functional team (including Chief Engineer's team, Engineering, Procurement, Configuration Management, Airworthiness, Customer Services functions) as well as external suppliers to ensure a mature improvement/change/ solution is available to cost & within the committed programme timescales.
As the successful candidate you have a good understanding of supplier
- customer
- stakeholder management and knowledge of KPI management. You will be given the opportunity to take responsibility for key work packages, while further developing a wide range of programme and project management skills.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Project Management Support to Work Package Leader for all Major Projects
- Project baseline recording and monitoring
- Communication & reporting
- Validation and Verification
- Tracking of Programme vs Financial performance
- Lessons learnt management
- Leadership for other smaller Continuous Product Development (CPD) tasks as appropriate
- Project Management
- Integration and management of stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of tasks
- Management of and interface to the Multi-functional team in particular the engineering function
- Risk and Opportunity Management Execution
You will be expected to provide regular progress reporting and quickly escalate issues that need to be resolved by senior management.
As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies:
- Experience using Project management tools and processes.
- Experience facilitating, co-ordinating and directing meetings.
- Technical knowledge of specification, design, build & test processes.
- VBA / SQL skills would be desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible to travel.
- Negotiation level English, both written and spoken.
