Description of the job
The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) programme is an international programme sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.
We are looking for highly motivated graduates who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).

The VIE is a specific contract, under Ubifrance's eligibility criteria. VIE Main Requirements:
- European Union citizens, graduates up to 28 years old
- Have fulfilled military obligations for their country
- Have previous experience working abroad
- Fluent in English
Airbus opened its first North American design and engineering facility in 2002, bringing together some of America's top talent to work on the 525-seat A380 and other long-range Airbus programmes. Located in Wichita, Kansas, the centre has grown to employ some 250 engineers. In June 2010, the Wichita location was expanded with a second engineering centre to focus on wing work for Airbus aircraft, and house a team of in-service repair engineers specialising in critical support for customers around the world.
Airbus is looking for an IT Project Support Manager – VIE, for a 12-month contract, to be part of the Airbus Technical Data Support and Services – Technical Data Production, in Airbus GmbH, based in Finkenwerder, Germany.
Airbus technical Data Support and Services is responsible for providing Airbus customers with Technical Data as well as associated support for the safe, reliable and economical aircraft operations.
You will report to the Manager of Technical Data Production.
You will support the Product and Reporting for Information Systems for Monitoring Activities (PRISMA) Project team (allocated in France) during the project’s solution development, acceptance, deployment and entry into service.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Performing the technical detailed design of one or more application modules, as well as their coding, customising, testing and integration into the development environment,
- Analysing defects,
- Identifying the root cause of defects,
- Elaborating the proper technical solution,
- Developing the necessary corrections,
- Elaborating the project documentation,
- Training the final users,
- Managing the maintenance, improvement and further development of the application after the entry into service project phase,
- Supporting the activities of the Technical Data Assembly and Delivery-Generic/Envelop team (Germany).
Required skills
As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and competencies:
- Educated to a 5-year degree level (or equivalent) specialising in engineering (IT),
- Skills in visual basic.net,
- Skills in asp.net,
- Negotiation level of English,
- Ability to work within a team,
- Communication and leadership skills,
