Job description

World leader in gases, technologies and services for Industry and Health, Air Liquide is
present in 80 countries with more than 50,000 employees and serves more than 2 million
customers and patients. Oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen have been at the core of the
company’s activities since its creation in 1902. Air Liquide’s ambition is to be the leader in
its industry, delivering long-term performance and acting responsibly.
The Operations Control Center (OCC) is the central unit from which the operations in the
Benelux are managed for the Large Industries business line. It is a young and dynamic
group of engineers, with a strong sense for optimization and continuous improvement.
General statement : The OCC has 5 teams of 2 Real Time Engineers (RTE) that work in
shifts 24/7 with the responsibility to take the right decisions for optimization, nomination
(of energy) and reliability.
Well over 1M€ per day of energy is used by our networks to produce our products. It is
our firm belief that by continuous improvement we can capture material savings. This can
be done by automating or improving minor RTE-tasks, to have more focus on major
RTE-tasks and by improving decision making.
The RTE's currently find too little time to improve their effectiveness. The Improvement
Engineer will be asked to recognize, develop and implement improvements in decision
making and effectiveness.
Main responsibilities:
● 50% RTE-work in shifts:
○ Morning, Late and Night shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm & 11pm
- 7am) first
3 months continuously together with the normal teams in the shift roster
to learn and understand the job.
○ take the right decisions in order to be a reliable supplier of industrial
gases
○ take the right decisions in order to optimize the networks.
50% improvement and support
○ improvement in energy nominations
○ improvement in using our RTO’s (Real Time Optimization software)
○ improvement in managing alarms
○ automation of tasks
○ ad-hoc questions and issues will be raised by the OCC-analysts &
RTE's .
We are looking for a dynamic person with a strong will to succeed and who is willing to
take on a challenge. You need to be able to keep the overview in a complex and
constantly evolving environment. When faced with problems, you develop or propose
solutions in an autonomous way.
The ideal candidate has strong listening skills and is able to adapt his “language” to the
different profiles within our organisation. She or he knows how to motivate others.
A driver’s licence is a plus (regular visits to the sites will be required)

Make every future a success.
