Do you have a major interest in Bollywood, British Asian Music and Lifestyle Events?

Would you like to gain very valuable experience in contributing to an award-winning online magazine?

If yes, we have an internship with full training and support to help you develop into a versatile entertainment and events writer for our online publication.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who will write and contribute entertainment news and feature articles based on them attending screenings, doing interviews and seeing events held in London.

In this role, you will be fully encouraged to quickly develop very valuable skills in an online environment, supported by the senior editorial team.

You will need proven skills in written/spoken English, good proof-reading skills and the ability to work to tight timescales.

Awareness of Bollywood, Indian/Pakistani entertainment e.g. television and music, are very important for this role.

KEY SKILLS

As part of this role you shall gain experience in the following:

* Writing feature articles
* Researching apt entertainment stories for the publication
* Attending events e.g. film screenings, shows etc.
* Conducting video or telephonic interviews with celebrities and stars
* Working with the senior editorial team to produce timely articles
* Writing, editing and proof-reading articles
* Development online writing skills to produce stories fully credited to you

Any experience of using blogging tools such Wordpress, Blogger, Drupal etc. for this role will be useful but not essential as training will be provided.

The role will be based in London but you will be required to attend our Birmingham office for your induction and initial training.

Desired profile

- Good computer experience e.g. Word and Internet use
- Knowledge of British Asian and South Asian cultures - especially news and entertainment
- Good presenting skills
- Ability to interview celebrities with confidence and knowledge (not star struck easily).
- Any experience of working in media e.g. radio, newspaper, online desirable but not essential
- Educated to degree or diploma level standard ideally in a Media or English related discipline.
- Good communication and organisation skills
- Excellent command of English - both written and spoken.
- Be enthusiastic about news editorial and publishing high-quality content.
- Have experience of using any basic photo-editing tools will be useful (but you will be trained).
