Entertainment News Writer and Journalist Required

Are you of a news media or journalistic background and/or with a degree in an English discipline? If so, we have an excellent opening for you to join an editorial team as an intern to develop as an Entertainment News Writer for an award-winning web magazine.

Awareness of British Asian (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi etc.) communities will be very advantageous but not essential for this role.

If you have constant interest in British/South Asian entertainment news stories, for example Bollywood, Music etc and researching everyday breaking news with a passion to develop as a entertainment news writer/reporter - then this opportunity is for you.

You shall be put onto our On-Line Writers Development programme where you will learn to develop your skills further to creatively write for on-line and digital platforms.

Mentoring and support from the Editorial Team shall be provided to develop you towards a self-sufficient Entertainment News Writer role for the publication.

You will be credited for every article you write with your own profile on the web publication. Allowing you to build a good portfolio and reference.

Commitment is the key requirement for you to gain from this role and the desire to learn and apply quickly.

A minimum of 5-9 months is an ideal time scale to develop a strong portfolio of your writing ability in this role.

Desired profile

- A degree in English, Journalism, Media or any similar discipline.
- A passionate writer with the desire to write good quality news articles.
- Experience of any online writing skills, blog writing, YouTube videos, magazine, student publications etc. will be an advantage.

It is required that you are based in Birmingham as you will be required to work with the team and attend weekly editorial meetings and workshops - for at least 2-3 days per week.
