AECOM are recruiting for an Environmental Consultant at Principal level with knowledge of urban regeneration, to join a busy Urban Regeneration Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Planning Team in one of the largest environmental and engineering consultancies in the world. The role would ideally be based in our Wimbledon office, but other locations in the South of England such as our Basingstoke or Victoria offices are available.
The role will involve supporting and directing colleagues in the Urban Regeneration EIA Team (and other parts of the business), to provide knowledge and expertise in the assessment and management of environmental issues and to help in the company objective of expanding environmental services. It will require excellent EIA project management skills, commercial awareness in the marketplace and will predominantly involve work on and coordination of large multidisciplinary projects.
The ideal candidate would have a proven track record in management of EIA and/or environmental management / planning projects ideally in the urban regeneration sector.
Knowledge:
• Considerable established knowledge of EIA and current best practice guidance in a variety of sectors, particularly urban regeneration.
• Proven track record of EIA Project Management experience (in a number of London Borough’s is preferable but not a requirement).
• Extensive knowledge of project management principles and project finances and a range of EIA techniques in addition to other environmental assessment techniques such as Sustainability Appraisal (SA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Health Impact Assessment (HIA) etc.
Skills:
• Extensive proven track record in project management and financial management.
• First class communication and organisation skills.
• Self motivation, enthusiasm and tenacity.
• Strong attention to detail at all times and excellent problem solving abilities.
• Flexibility to be able to lead on a wide range of EIA projects.
Experience:
• Substantial experience of EIA and other impact assessment techniques (particularly in the urban regeneration sector).
• Considerable experience in managing projects in a consultancy environment.
• Considerable time management experience.
• Experience of producing Responses to Client tender briefs and business development experience.
As well as the above we're looking for Candidates with an undergraduate/first degree in environmental sciences, natural sciences or environmental planning and Masters/second degree in a related subject such as EIA and environmental management essential.
