Purpose
:
Develop, coordinate and administer all safety and security programs within Canada (primarily brick and mortar retail stores, retail events and Woodbridge office). The primary objective is to ensure compliance with legislative, government and corporate, frameworks e.g. safety and security and agreed operational procedures relating to cash, sales and stock to minimize loss and protect Company assets.
Key Responsibilities :
Loss Prevention
Analyze
, maintain and perform safety and security audits at Company facilities (excluding distribution to assure compliance with Company policies, procedures and best practices; as well as, federal and provincial regulations.
Review, document and report findings of third-party audits to appropriate personnel.
Conduct investigations (safety and security) affecting the Company, its employees, contractors and visitors. This may include, but is not limited to conducting interviews, collecting evidence, preparing documentation, and testifying in court.
Assist retail and facilities operations teams in the identification, design and implementation of safety and security policies, equipment and other compliance-related programs.
Identify and analyze asset protection risks in order to effectively develop, recommend, and implement comprehensive countermeasures designed to eliminate and/or minimize loss.
Serve as a liaison to law enforcement agencies conducting investigations affecting the Company and its assets.
Assure coordination of internal and external resources during emergencies or operational irregularities to protect Company assets.
Drive shrinkage reduction and negative inventory in close cooperation with Inventory Control through process improvement and execution (store receiving policy etc.).
Review and assess semi-annual inventory results. Use inventory results and other KPIs to create an annual Focus Store program with a goal of reducing loss in the highest shrink stores.
Internal and External Compliance
Implement and compile effective action plans based on audit deficiencies applicable to retail and corporate office.
On-going maintenance of the Company’s policies and procedures, including regular communication of procedure updates to staff.
Manage and direct training, guidance and compliance testing of Health & Safety within the market.
Safety and Security
Assist with new store openings, store closing, remodels and day-to-day operations by managing access control, closed-circuit television, computer-aided alarm monitoring and other security systems, e.g. keys and safes, intended to protect the physical, informational and human assets of the Company. This includes managing all on-going service for selected equipment.
Ensure store personnel are following accident reporting procedures, assist in determining causes of accidents and provide solutions toward accident prevention.
Manage coordination of all safety and security resources for all retail events, including personnel and supplies.
Reporting and KPI
Create risk management reporting for management.
Measure and report progress on KPI’s (Risk Assessment, Shrinkage, Compliance).

· Ability to travel domestically (approximately 50% and internationally (occasionally)
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
:
· A four-year degree with 3-5 years of management experience in the Sporting Apparel & Footwear Retail industry.
· Knowledge of provincial health and safety requirements (WSIB etc.).
· Driver’s license and access to own vehicle for transportation
· Previous experience with Loss Prevention preferred.
· Knowledge of French language is an asset.
· Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
