Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

Ensure continuous improvement of testing processes for fit, performance and quality and support the product teams (Development/Marketing/Design) and the Apparel Quality Team by ensuring the highest level of testing for each specific Business Unit and category.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Test selected apparel products to ensure proper performance, fit and quality, evaluate results and properly communicate them to the respective contact person

·         Maintain the highest knowledge of all new apparel concepts ( for one or more respective categories ) and ensure that any new testing requirements are built within the test methodologies

·         Build and maintain a close communication and cooperation with relevant counterparts across the different adidas- Group departments in order to ensure common approach regarding product testing & apparel quality

·         Coordinate the Performance Testing activities ( field testing ) and conduct apparel product tests according to adidas- Group standards and development calendars, evaluate the results and properly communicate them to the respective contact person in Development

·         Write the RMS test reports for the tested garment ( Fit-/Wear-/Wash test ) and enter accurate and complete data into the database

·         Build a test network of different categories of wear testers focusing on the development of high level-athletes as the strategic test group; maintaining and extending this database on an international level by cultivating a close contact to high level- athletes

·         Develop and establish customized test procedures for a specific category

·         Conduct Product Tests for a specific category or projects ( e.g. material test, benchmark, basic pattern ); evaluate results and communicate these to the respective contact person (Development/ Marketing/ Design )

·         Maintain and update seasonal test reports and training program based on the testing  experience of previous seasons to provide feedback to the product teams; create and maintain a history database

·         Work closely together with all Apparel Quality departments to provide  information about critical projects in order to avoid claims

·         Give regular feedback to Senior Product Test Manager and report any difficulties arising in the product testing process in order to solve current problems and work on future solutions

·         Support and coach Assistant Product Test Manager on all Product Testing related issues

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

·         excellent organising talent

·         Sport specifics understanding

·         Good English, fluent German

·         Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power point and database understanding)

·         1-2 years of progressive working experience in the apparel industry (pattern, development, testing or marketing areas)   

·         Undergraduate university degree in Sports Science or equivalent education preferred
