Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
We're looking for a developer to challenge the status quo and propel our brand into new experiences with apps and online interfaces. This role will literally be “Creating The New” for adidas, bringing new concepts to life within the Digital Innovation Team. The Mobile Developer will help the team to identify, pilot, and validate digital innovations in our commercial channels. If you've got the chops to prototype iOS apps and compelling web experiences, and aren’t afraid to try new things, then you are who we want to meet.
Key Accountabilities:
· Develop app-based and web-based prototypes for concepts being explored within the Digital Innovation team.
· Support the Digital Innovation team in brainstorming sessions and designing pilot apps and web experiences.
· Be the expert on mobile development, bringing current trends and new concepts in app development to the group, staying up to date on the competitive landscape of mobile technologies and how they can be relevant to our brand.
· Serve as the technical expert to translate and document the requirements of successful prototypes for further development with internal groups or third-party agencies.
· Interface with third-party design and development agencies, and collaborate with them on development projects.
· Maintain a collaborative relationship with the global mobile development team, acting as the US partner for global trends and standards in mobile development.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
· Minimum two (2) years’ experience with iOS development
· iOS development experience with Swift, Objective-C, Cocoa Touch, iPhone/iPad Apple SDK
· Experience building and managing database backends to support iOS app solutions.
· Android experience a plus, not required.
· Working experience using Parse.
· Development experience with iBeacon, Apple TouchID and ApplePay.
· Strong knowledge of content development for mobile devices and application of HTML5
· Working understanding of web standards HTML, Javascript, CSS – and proven examples of how you’ve used them.
· Proficient in major web design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
· Experience with rapid iteration through prototypes.
· Ability to see a project through the completion of all phases.
· Experience building an iPhone app from start to finish.
· Excellent problem solving skills – able to identify, analyze and propose solutions to various technical and business issues
· Action-oriented with the ability to multi-task and discern priorities.
· Must be entrepreneurial, with an innovative spirit, eager and willing to take chances.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
· Two years’ experience as an iOS developer.
