Mechanical Engineering Internship- Future Team

The adidas Sports Performance division is creating innovations for athletes who demand performance.

Innovation sits at the very core of adidas product.  The adidas Future team is a very talented group of Engineers, Scientists, Designers and Researchers who explore and engineer ideas and concepts that will exist 5- 7 years in the future.  Their goal is to introduce new technologies, textiles, materials and products that provide a tangible benefit to an athlete – giving a performance edge that could be the difference between a Gold or Silver medal.

An exciting 6 month internship opportunity has just opened up within the Future team to help engineer our footwear and apparel products to optimal standards.

You will work with Designers, 3rd party vendors, Sports Scientists & Researchers to design and run various tests on FEA and other mechanical engineering characteristics, concept development as well as testing prototypes in our sports lab.

Your Profile:

We are looking for someone to contribute and grow engineering knowledge through variety of projects. Main duties will include concept development, prototyping, computational simulation, materials and geometric optimization, mechanical and field testing.

Key Accountabilities:

·  Work on assigned projects
·  Perform research and testing, evaluate test results
·  Debug and analyze prototypes
·  Summarize findings and recommendations

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

·  Good working knowledge of CAE and FE applications
·  Digital Image Correlation experience
·  Experience with Mechanical /Biomechanical research with human test subjects.
·  Passion for technical aspects of sport and desire to apply engineering to sports products
·  Strong communications skills (written and verbal)
·  Experience with MS Office  applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) preferred
·  Strong problem-solving
·  Ability to work within a team environment

Desired profile

Qualifications:

·  Undergraduate degree in Engineering preferred, preferably Mechanical Engineering
·  Must be within one year of graduation, or working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree
·  Previous experience conducting technical testing, simulation, or prototyping, preferred
