Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
Be a true commercial business partner to Global Brand Marketing for one of the leading sports brands within a small team of experts:
· Negotiate to get the best deals & most valuable rights in agreements with adidas’ agencies and other agreements related to marketing, advertising, and content creation.
· Protect the business interests of adidas Group in all brand marketing matters.
Key Responsibilities:
· Partner with internal communication and marketing clients by advising and negotiating a variety of marketing and advertising agreements including client-agency agreements, or license/usage rights agreements for various types of creative content or assets
· Participate in drafting sponsorship or other agreements with international athletes, clubs and sport federations
· Provide legal support and advise to Sports Marketing Managers, internal producers, the Global Newsrooms, and Global Brand Communications teams with respect to all legal/contractual related matters
· Participate in the drafting and development of guidelines and templates to support a seamless legal and rights management pipeline and advise on the correct implementation such guidelines and templates
· Support adidas Group production & marketing procurement efforts
· To supervise and support staff to ensure the correct preparation/handling of documentation
· To assist the Brand & Sports Marketing team in international transactions and other projects, as may be requested from time to time
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Fluent in English (both verbally and written) and demonstrable skills in negotiating and drafting of English commercial contracts. German or other language skills a bonus
· Enthusiastic, energetic, honest person who is as comfortable working independently as in a team
· Familiarity/experience with a wide variety of marketing agreements, including client-agency and service provider agreements, sponsorship, endorsement, & licensing, production and talent agreements
· Experience and good insight and understanding of today’s social media, advertising, and media environment
· Good organizational and administrative skills (to provide direction for the back office)
· Professional and approachable, adaptable to a variety of personalities, roles & situations who is capable of functioning effectively in cross-cultural working environment
· Flexible - must be willing to travel and work in different countries/jurisdictions
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
· University law degree
· 3 - 6+ years of professional working experience in a relevant commercial environment
