Internship at adidas:

The purpose of this internship is to provide the internship student with experience of the practical application of theoretical knowledge the internship student has already acquired at university and to acquire new skills and knowledge. This internship description contains tasks and responsibilities that will be learned step by step and the internship student will be accompanied by adidas employees at all times. adidas International/ Marketing /Trading B.V. will ensure that the internship student is given tasks and responsibilities according to the level of competence of the student and the educational objectives for the internship period. The internship student will sign an internship agreement, which is not an employment contract.

Purpose:

The Global Trademarks team of adidas International Marketing B.V. consists of 36 people worldwide; 20 of them are based in Amsterdam. The people are divided in 6 teams. Each team consists of one or more lawyers, brand protection managers, paralegals and legal assistants. Each team is responsible for the registration, maintenance and protection of the IP rights of the adidas group (also including e.g., Reebok) in various countries. The intern will provide day to day support to all members of the Global Trademarks team in various areas of their intellectual property work.

Key Responsibilities:

· Identification of counterfeit and infringing products.
· Assisting in trade mark prosecution matters, such as filing of new trade marks, renewals and name changes. This also includes preparing supporting evidence of use for trade mark filings, oppositions and trade mark enforcement cases.
· Conducting model name clearance searches and assisting the other team members with some clearance projects in relation to names and designs.
· General secretarial work (such as handling of correspondence, archiving and scanning of documents)

Your profile:

· Currently a Law student at a university or other instance of higher education with a focus on IP
· Enrolled for the complete duration of the internship (6 months)
· This internship onlyapplies to EU citizens due to working permit regulations
· Basic knowledge of IP is required
· Able to communicate in English (oral and written)
· Team player with a positive and flexible attitude
