Internship at the adidas Group
The purpose of this internship is to provide the internship student with experience of the practical application of theoretical knowledge the internship student has already acquired at university and to acquire new skills and knowledge. This internship description contains tasks and responsibilities that will be learned step by step and the internship student will be accompanied by adidas employees at all times. adidas International/ Marketing /Trading B.V. will ensure that the internship student is given tasks and responsibilities according to the level of competence of the student and the educational objectives for the internship period. The internship student will sign an internship agreement, which is not an employment contract.
Purpose:To support the Groups duty saving initiatives relating to overseas sourcing
Managing the flow of trade documents is key to the Group achieving USD100 mio+ per annum in duty savings. This position will support the monitoring of results by key markets and where issues are identified will take responsibility for actioning and resolving. The intern will build relationships with key stakeholders in the supply chain, including sourcing, customs managers and 3rd party logistic companies. Producing monthly management reports will be a key activity.
Role & Responsibilities:
This role will play a key role in maximizing duty savings achieved by the Group:
· Running management reports on a weekly basis to identify results achieved by key Markets (e.g. China, Korea, UK, Germany)
· Identify trends and analyse data to quickly identify problems with markets, origin or specific factories
· Liaise with stakeholders in supply chain on issues identified / arising from the reporting (e.g. Sourcing offices, Local Customs Managers, Global Transportation and Global Logistics)
· Prepare monthly reports for stakeholders (Global Logistics, Sourcing, Markets) on results, including duty savings achieved and duty lost, with reasons
· Support ad hoc projects arising, including Operational Excellence initiatives
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Currently a Business or Marketing student at a university or other instance of higher education- Enrolled for the complete duration of the internship (6 months)
· Only applies to EU citizens due to working permit regulations
· Some knowledge of supply chain or economics preferable
· Analytical skills
· Experience of using MS-Excel, MS-Access and MS-PPT is a plus
